Manual Therapy

Area Specific

These sessions last for 30 minutes and can include any form of manual therapy technique. They can be either release style sessions (massage and cupping etc), or injury rehabilitation sessions which will include an initial assessment and appropriate treatment using a range of techniques.

The 'MOT'

These sessions, like the area specific sessions can be for specific injuries or general muscular, pain and tension release. This style of session lasts 60 minutes and is typically used as a full body massage hence the name 'MOT'. These sessions are targetted at pain relief and providing plans and programmes to improve injuries and reduce the onset of pain.

The 'MOT' Plus

A 90 minute session where a variety of different treatment types are performed. This session is targetted at major pain relief and muscle tightness but can also be used for injury specific sessions. Typically this session will consist of a full body deep tissue massage, along with different area specific active releases to gain the best overall benefit.

Postural Analysis £45

The postural Analysis sessions will typically last up to 45 minutes*

They will include a full body postural assessment where the following things will be analysed:

- Foot Positioning

- Knee Positioning

- Hip Positioning

- Shoulder Positioning

- Head Positioning

- Walking Gait

- Muscle Firing Patterns (Specifically around the hips and shoulders)

Based on the findings of this assessment, a plan/programme will be devised and explained to the client. The plan/programme will typically contain detailed releases and exercise prescription in order to improve on the overall posture of the body.

Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) sessions utilise state of the art technology to apply a localised electrical impulse into the desired muscle(s). The stimulation of the muscle in this manner forces a highly concentrated contraction, which has been reported to be up to 150x more efficient than a standard muscle contraction. The use of EMS is very prevalent in the aesthetic and beauty industry, and we are here to show you how YOU can benefit from it!!

The following service packages detail the ins and outs of EMS at EMERJ. We utilise this revolutionary tool to aid gym productivity, improve mind to muscle connection, aid with muscular toning and activation, improve posture, reduce pain, rehabilitate late stage injuries, remove waste products from the body through lymphatic drainage and to help with fat loss and skin tightening.

Hand Held

This form of EMS is the most simple. It involves a hand held wand being used to administer the electrical current to the muscle. It is applied to a single muscle at any one point. The session lasts up to 30 minutes and can be performed on specific desired muscle groups, or can be done as a crash course full body experience.

Electrical Pads

This form of EMS is used more commonly for the core (abdominal muscles) or full body treatments. In this session, soft pads are put on the muscles in order to administer the electrical impulses. These pads will be strapped in place and the EMS machine will administer the currents at designated time intervals. This style of EMS can be used for body sculpting, aiding fat loss, muscle toning as well as lymphatic drainage.

Show ready - Bronze

This package of EMS includes use of both the hand held and the pads variants of EMS. It is targetted mainly at bodybuilders and fitness workers who have shows or photo shoots coming up, however, it can be purchased and effective for anyone who wishes to use it.

The package includes a full body lymphatic drain using the machine to eradicate any left over fluids and waste products in the body. It also includes a facial treatment to aid with skin replenishment and tightening around the face prior to the show/shoot etc.

Show Ready - Silver

The Silver Show Ready package will encompass everything in the bronze package with the addition of hand held EMS for 1 desired muscle area.

For example, it could be someone wanting their chest area worked as well. Therefore they would get full body lymphatic drainage, an EMS facial and hand held EMS administered contractions of the pecs.

Show ready - Gold

Show Ready Gold includes a full body lymphatic drain, an EMS facial treatment plus hand held EMS work on 2 muscle areas.

This package aims at giving total body fluid/wast draining, skin tightening and rejuvenation around the face as well as improved muscular function on the two desired areas. The goal of this package is to give the client the best possible chance (in line with their training and dieting etc) in whatever competition, photo shoot or event they may be doing. Or if you don't have any competition, photo shoot and you just like the sound of the package for all the great benefits, go ahead and book one anyway!!!
